NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 20, 1996--The Czech Republic Fund Inc., a closed-end management investment company that seeks long term capital appreciation by investing primarily in securities of Czech issuers, today announced unaudited results for the year ended August 31, 1996.

The Fund commenced investment operations on Sept. 30, 1994.

For the year ended August 31, 1996, the Fund's net investment loss was $386,293, equal to $0.07 per share, as compared to net investment income of $1,277,501, equal to $0.29 per share, for the eleven months ended August 31, 1995.
