SEOUL, Oct 16 Asia Pulse - South Korea was the fourth largest source of spam mail that was distributed around the world last month, an industry report showed Thursday.

A monthly report from Symantec Corp., a U.S. publisher of anti-virus software, said that 4 per cent of all spam mail in the world in September originated from South Korea, without giving actual numbers. The nation's ranking jumped six notches from the previous month.

The United States came first, as the origin for 29 per cent of all spam mail, followed by Turkey and Russia with 8 per cent and 7 per cent, respectively.
