A modern pioneer in the law, Justice Peggy Quince was inducted into the Florida Women's Hall of Fame in a Capitol Rotunda ceremony March 13 in Tallahassee.

Quince, the first black woman justice of the Florida Supreme Court and only the third female justice in the state, was selected for the honor, along with Maryly VanLeer Peck--a noted chemical engineer and advocate for women in science--by Gov. Charlie Crist, who chose the inductees from a list of 10 distinguished women put forth by the Florida Commission on the Status of Women.
