The total output of fungicides in China was 137 000 tons (counting on 100% active ingredient) in 2007, an increase of 22.3% over 2006, with sales of some varieties up and others down. Besides weather, the difference in effect was also a major factor. The increase in the raw material price and the production cost led to a price rise of some products. For example, prices of large-volume conventional varieties such as mancozeb and carbendazim all increased considerably.
