COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.--Sep. 23--When Saudi Arabia needs it, the country looks to Colorado Springs. So does Brazil, and the coastal state of California. And now, South Korea wants 3.2 million pounds of it.
What is it that we have that they seem to want?
Sand. Yes, that simple substance found in deserts and on beaches the world over, but largely confined to playgrounds and roads in Colorado. It seems Colorado Springs is a hotbed for sand.
But don't places like Saudi Arabia have enough sand to meet their needs?
