NEW YORK -- Randolph Duke is joining Halston International as design and creative director.
Duke will design the apparel collections and oversee all licensing design, according to Carmine Porcelli, director of licensing for Halston, which is a unit of Tropic Tex International Apparel Group.
The better-priced Halston women's apparel collection will reach retailers for spring, and Duke, who starts Monday, will have some input on late deliveries for that season. But his first real impact will be for fall 1997, when the company will roll out a designer-priced line, lingerie and a host of licenses.
