Investment firm J.C. Flowers & Co. is doubling its space at 717 Fifth Ave. to about 16,300 square feet. The firm just signed a 10-year lease for roughly 8,400 square feet, the entire 21st floor of the building between East 55th and East 56th streets. The asking rent was $150 a square foot. J.C. Flowers already leases the entire 26th floor and will move into the additional space shortly.
The company needed more space and wanted to stay in the building because of its location, light and views, says Erik Harris, a broker at Newmark Knight Frank, who represented J.C. Flowers along with his colleague Scott Klau.
