The board of trustees of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota announced that Patrick Geraghty has been named President and CEO, to succeed Dr. Mark W. Banks, the organization's current CEO. Geraghty will be joining Blue Cross in October 2008. He most recently served as Senior Vice President of the Service Division of Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, a health plan with 3.6 million members. He has also held several senior leadership positions with Prudential Insurance Company, including President of the Southeast Division; Vice President of Health Plan Operations; and President of Prudential HealthCare Pharmacy Operations (see also Managed Care).
