MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Pet Food Warehouse, Inc. (Nasdaq: PFWA) will merge with PETCO Animal Supplies, Inc. (Nasdaq: PETCO), one of the nation's largest specialty retailers of pet food and supplies. The acquisition of Pet Food Warehouse, as approved by the boards of directors of both companies, will provide PETCO with a strong midwest presence.
The addition of Pet Food Warehouse's 28 stores will bring to 305 the number of stores owned and operated by PETCO across the nation.
