Oct. 3--Ahoy there, Rock Hill, a boating equipment supplier has its eye on York County land for a distribution center that could bring 300 jobs and a 1-million-square-foot building to the county.
But York County may be in the running with three North Carolina counties for the economic development prize.
West Marine Inc. would replace its 135,000-square-foot warehouse off Westinghouse Boulevard in South Charlotte with the new center, beginning with a 400,000- to 600,000-square-foot building, said Bruce Hazel, company vice president.
The company will pick a site within the next 90 days, he said.
