A SKIPPER whose boat had to be rescued by the crew of a super ferry three weeks ago has now got stuck under this pier.
Thomas Cragg's boat was nearly blown into Beaumaris Pier in high winds on Sunday morning. The 36-foot ketch Planet came to rest under it, and was beached when the tide went out.
Lifeboat rescuers, alerted at about 7am, were left bemused as to how it got there. Beaumaris RNLI operations manager Derek Lumb said: "I've not seen many boats under the pier.
"It turned out it was heading to a mooring in Beaumaris Bay when the tiller broke late on Saturday night. The wind was strong and the yachtsman, having realised the boat wasn't going anywhere, stayed ...
