SUPERMARKET and high street chemists' shelves are stacked with hundreds of products which claim to help relieve the symptoms of the common cold.
Most of the large companies behind these products have worked with researchers at the Common Cold Centre, in Cardiff, to test their products and their claims.
The centre, which today celebrates its 20th anniversary, also played a small hand in helping to make ibuprofen an over-thecounter, rather than a prescriptiononly, medicine.
