NEW YORK -- The Egyptian Government wants to dramatically raise the profile of Egyptian apparel exports to the U.S.
To that end, an organization called Ex-Port U.S. was formed to promote exports of Egyptian apparel products to the U.S. "We have targeted major store groups like Federated Merchandising," said Paul Young, chairman of Ex-Port U.S., which is based at 330 East 39th Street here. J.C. Penney is another retailer Ex-Port U.S. would like to work with, he noted in a recent interview. It hasn't signed up any retailers yet, however.
