CALABASAS HILLS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 9, 1996--The Cheesecake Factory Inc. (NASDAQ: CAKE) announced that Evelyn Overton, founder, officer and director of the company, passed away Wednesday.
Overton, 75, founded the company in 1972 with her husband, Oscar Overton and their son, David Overton, the company's current chairman, president and CEO. Mrs. Overton had been retired from day-to-day management activities in the company for several years. Her approximate 9.5 percent ownership interest in the company will remain in the Overton family.
