SEOUL, Korea, Oct. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Lucent Technologies (NYSE: LU) announced that it has been awarded a US$71 million contract by Shinsegi Telecomm Inc., one of Korea's phone service providers, to supply and install a Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) wireless network. The network will cover the areas of Pusan and Kyungnam, which are located in the south.
Under the contract, Lucent Technologies will supply its 5ESS(R)-2000 Switch-based Mobile Switching Center (MSC) and 92 units of the Base Transceiver System (BTS).
