PITTSBURGH, Oct. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Following an in-depth study to improve the efficiency of its coal tar distillation facilities, the Carbon Materials & Chemicals Division of Koppers Industries, Inc., has decided to close its Houston, Texas, facility and consolidate the coal tar distillation production at its remaining plants.
Walter W. Turner, Vice President and General Manager of the Carbon Materials & Chemicals Division, said that Koppers will be assisting all 27 employees, 11 of them members of the International Association of Machinists Union, in finding new employment opportunities within the Company's other plants.
