Barry L. Farris was recently awarded a third patent for his pre-filled plungerless syringe design identified by Vital Signs, Inc. (VITL) in its press release of October 7, 1996. While VITL contends that it holds the right to market this design under an Exclusive License Agreement with Farris, VITL has failed to disclose that its right is currently being contested in a New Jersey federal court action filed in 1995.
