LONDON (FNS) -- Connolly Ltd. has a growing legion of fans -- Ralph Lauren calls the leather goods and apparel retailer his favorite store here (after his own), while Dawn Mello is desperate to give it space in her Bergdorf Goodman Men store on Fifth Avenue in New York.
But the 118-year-old Connolly is in no hurry to expand.Still family-owned, with the third and fourth generations of Connollys involved, the company wants to make sure it's around for a few more generations and is taking things slowly. That's why it won't be going into Bergdorf's this fall, as Mello would like, but probably will wait until next spring.
