TOPIC: A study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) National Center for Health Statistics found the numbers of U.S. children with food allergies seem to be increasing, according to an article by The Associated Press. The first federal study of its kind revealed that food allergies in American children are on the rise and now affect about 3 million kids or four percent of children and teenagers under the age of 18. The number of young people who had a food or digestive allergy increased 18 percent between 1997 and 2007.
