NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 14, 1996--Bob Whittaker, Vice President and General Manager of the Grand Ole Opry, has been named President of the Grand Ole Opry Group of Gaylord Entertainment Company (NYSE:GET), said E.W. Wendell, President and Chief Executive Officer of Gaylord Entertainment.

Whittaker, 55, will replace the retiring Hal Durham, who was General Manager of the Grand Ole Opry from 1974 until 1993 when he was named President of the Grand Ole Opry Group. Whittaker will become President on November 1, the 25th anniversary of his employment with the Company.
