In order to be able to defend themselves more vigorously in Europe and worldwide, in particular vis-a-vis counterfeit goods, the producers of Parmesan cheese and Parma ham are calling for the creation of a European agency for geographical indications, the strengthening of rules relating to the use of denominations on the labels of industrial products and regulation tools for quality products.
