Philly native son Musiq Soulchild has a twofold reason to celebrate. Born Taalib Johnson on September 16, the soul artist released his fifth album on his 31st birthday.
Merging lyrics about life experiences with various music genres, including R&B, funk, rock, jazz and hip-hop, is part of the Musiq Soulchild mystique. His latest project, On My Radio (Atlantic), comes a year after Luvanmusiq, his CD that delivered the top-selling singles "B.U.D.D.Y." and "Teach Me."
