The Dubai International Financial Exchange (DIFX), the smaller of the city's two stock exchanges, has begun to allow trading in UAE dirhams in an attempt to attract more liquidity to the market from private investors. Speaking at the Capital Markets conference in Dubai on 22 October, Jeff Singer, chief executive officer of DIFX, said: "As of today, the DIFX does have a facility to trade, clear and settle in dirhams."
