In September 2008 the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the National Development and Reform Commission and the State Energy Bureau jointly issued a notice to further strengthen the environmental impact assessment on biomass power projects.
The document points out that in accordance with the "Law on Renewable Energies", the "Guiding Directory for the Development of the Renewable Energy Sector", the "Provisions for the Administration of Renewable Energy Power Generation" and the "Methods for the Administration of the Price and Cost Sharing of Renewable Energy Power (Trial)", biomass power projects mainly refer to power projects using the direct combustion and ...
