MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Alliant Techsystems (NYSE: ATK) said employees of its Defense Systems Group represented by Teamsters Union Local 1145 today voted to approve a new three-year contract. The vote brings to an end a 14-day strike by the 474 members of Local 1145 following rejection of a contract offer on October 6. The employees are expected to return to work at 6.00 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 21.
Today's vote followed extensive negotiations between the company and the union both prior to and following the initial vote on Oct. 6. At issue in the first proposal was language regarding outsourcing to meet changing economic conditions. Negotiations ...
