Article: Parsley -the healthy herb.

Although parsley is a common herb, I haven't grown it before. So this is a new try for me.

By all accounts, it can be stubborn to germinate and it requires heat in order to do so. I therefore plan to sow my seeds in late summer and again in spring.

This fine herb (petroselinum) is a member of the umbelliferae family and therefore, amongst its cousins are celery and carrots.

It is a biennial, which means, if seed is sown in one spring the resulting plants will produce seed in the second year. Irrespective of this, parsley is usually treated as an annual.
