Article: Turkmenistan's Gas Reserves May Exceed 38 TCM.

The British consulting firm Gaffney, Cline & Associates (GCA) on Oct. 13 announced in Ashgabat that the first results of its audit of Turkmenistan's proven gas reserves, under the established international classification system, stood between its low estimate of 4 TCM and a high 14 TCM. But the GCA said its study did not include many fields yet to be surveyed by the British firm which it believes are huge. Turkmenistan is thus closing its gap with Russia (48 TCM) and Iran (28 TCM), hitherto listed as having the world's largest and second-largest gas reserves.
