Sen. Barack Obama's campaign manager said Friday the race for Wisconsin's 10 electoral votes was all but over, with the Illinois senator building a nearly insurmountable lead.

Obama's lead over Sen. John McCain has strengthened in the upper Midwestern states of Minnesota and Wisconsin and "it's hard to see a pathway for McCain to come back there," campaign manager David Plouffe said.

Plouffe showed more confidence than Obama campaign aides in Wisconsin, who have consistently said they expect the state to be close. He spoke on a conference call with reporters at the end of a week in which polls showed Obama ...
