TOKYO, Oct 30 Asia Pulse - Furukawa-Sky Aluminum Corp. (TSE:5741), Japan's No. 1 maker of rolled aluminum products, said Wednesday that it will take a 25 per cent stake in British counterpart Bridgnorth Aluminum Ltd. by year's end.

Furukawa-Sky intends to use the purchase to establish a manufacturing and marketing presence in Europe, which has seen growing demand for high-quality aluminum products.

Bridgnorth is a subsidiary of Greece's Elval SA. Established in 1957, the U.K. firm specializes in aluminum strips for printing plates. It logged sales of some 20 billion yen (US$205.5 million) last year. The bulk of its annual output of 58, 000 tons is sold ...
