Oct. 25--Physician Sales & Service Inc. yesterday reported record earnings and revenues for the second quarter ended Sept. 30, helped by six acquisitions in the last seven months and continued internal growth.
Jacksonville-based PSS, which distributes medical supplies to office- based physicians, reported net income of $3.8 million, or 11 cents a share, in the quarter. The company had a net loss of $7.4 million in the quarter ended Sept. 30, 1995, due to one-time merger costs. Without those costs, PSS would have earned $1.9 million the previous year.
Net sales in the quarter rose from $119.7 million to $161.9 million.
