Will the recession, if it is a recession, cut into USA frozen food sales? You can't tell for sure by studying year-to-year statistics, because the housing bubble didn't burst until a year ago. It's hard to tell from dollar sales data, too, given the new round of inflation in food prices.
But based on data for supermarkets as reported by Information Resources, Inc., Chicago, Illinois, and adjusted by Quick Frozen Foods International to reflect estimated sales for Wal-Mart and other outlets not tracked by IRI, retail growth was minimal in volume but no in value.
