Exxon Mobil, Shell Q3 profits soar on record oil prices

New York, Oct 30 (PTI) Energy giants Exxon Mobil and Royal Dutch Shell reported strong quarterly profits, propelled mainly by record oil prices which had touched 147 dollars per barrel mark during the third quarter.

The third quarter profits of world's biggest oil firm Exxon Mobil skyrocketed 58 per cent to 14.83 billion dollars, reportedly one of the richest quarter reported by an American private company.

The firm had profits of 9.41 billion dollars in the corresponding period a year ago.
