Look out below - the Mexican peso isn't as stable as you may think.

Despite the selling climax of early 1995, there is still a lot of rot under the surface, and Federal Reserve tightening later this year will bring the peso down hard. It won't be as violent as in early 1995, however, because outside investors are no longer blind to Mexico's inherent riskiness.

Mexico's Achilles heel is its gross domestic savings rate, which hovers around 16% compared to 30% to 40% in many Asian countries.
