Tom Calderone is taking over as president of VH1. He began his career at MTV Networks in 1998 as senior VP-music and talent programming for MTV and has served as exec VP-general manager of VH1 since 2005.
Under Mr. Calderone's leadership, VH1 posted 23 consecutive quarters of growth in total viewers, and the first quarter of 2008 was the network's highest-rated quarter in the 18-to-49 demographic.
Mr. Calderone and his team have launched a number of successful ventures, including the annual "Rock Honors'' franchise and televised global music events such as the Concert for Diana in 2007 and the 90th-birthday concert for Nelson Mandela this past summer.
