LONG BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 4, 1996--Electronic Travel Auction, Inc., (ETA) today announced the world's first service enabling consumers and businesses to bid for airline seats, hotel rooms, cruise berths, vacation packages, and other travel-related products over the World Wide Web.
ETA will benefit the traveler, the travel supplier and the travel distributor by offering an open marketplace where demand will determine pricing, according to Mark Hawkins, president, ETA. The ETA service will be in beta test with travel suppliers, travel agencies and consumers throughout November, and is expected to be available to the traveling public in January ...
