A 16-year-old Syracuse boy set an unoccupied house on fire with a Molotov cocktail, recruited a 13-year-old boy to join him on a robbery, fatally shot a man while the younger boy watched and then stole a laptop computer from an occupied home, all within 24 hours, police said.
It was the laptop theft that brought the 16-year-old's crime spree to an end, the Syracuse police chief said Friday.
The boys have been charged with murder in the fatal shooting Wednesday night of Nathaniel Jamison, 49, at a home he owns at 334 W. Newell St.
