EL DORADO HILLS, Calif. -- The biggest dealer of rugged outdoor footwear is even larger after a strategic acquisition.
Track'n Trail, based here, bought Westford, Mass.-based Overland Trading Co., for an undisclosed sum last week. By purchasing Overland's 34 stores, Track 'n Trail, with 94 units in 22 states, adds a substantial New England base to its matrix. It also gains much more clout in dealing with vendors and competing with the Foot Lockers of the world as a $85 million company rather than a $60 million retailer.
