PRIVATE equity firms are circling a [pounds sterling]100m-turnover Manchester business which recruits specialists for oil and gas giants worldwide. Air Energi Group, based in Bank House, Charlotte Street, has attracted indicative bids from several venture capital outfits as bosses look to raise funds for further international expansion.

The business, which employs 160 sales and administrative staff, places around 1,000 engineers, design experts and managers a year on contracts with global giants such as Shell, BP, Esso, ExxonMobil and BG Group.
