THE proud owner of the historic grandfather clock, a permanent fixture at Portrush Railway Station for a century, has expressed his delight at returning the "magnificent timepiece to its original home."
Barry Torrens was speaking to the Times after the clock was transported to Portrush Town Hall on Friday afternoon where it was constructed and photographed by waiting media.
Barry said: "It was wonderful to see the clock return to Portrush and when delicately built in front of the Town Hall this afternoon, it stood to within 100 metres of where it stood for nearly 100 years."
