THREE men were dramatically rescued in Portstewart on Friday afternoon after their boat sank just off the harbour.
The incident happened at about 5.15pm when three men launched their 20-foot motor boat and headed out to sea from Portstewart Harbour. It was a calm evening but somehow the vessel suddenly upended and sank below the waves.
Portstewart man Peter Nash was watching and helped to raise the alarm. Peter said: "I was sitting on the Prom when I saw a boat go out of the harbour with three men in it.
"It stopped when it was about 500 metres out to sea. The sea was dead calm.
