ORGANISERS knew that with Pat Jennings performing the unveiling of Bertie Peacock's statue proceedings would be in safe hands.
Despite representing his country a record 119 times, being asked to unveil the much anticipated sculpture was just as big an honour for him.
"It truly is an honour to be here to pay tribute to Bertie," said Pat.
"He was a fantastic ambassador for Irish football and this is a very fitting tribute to him.
"I first met him back in 1964, I had just past my 18th birthday and Bertie picked me for Northern Ireland for the British Home Championship match against Wales.
