NEW YORK -- Accent rugs are growing. Not only are sales expanding, but the rugs themselves are getting bigger, according to rug resources.
Accent rugs are usually the smaller cousins of the 6-by-9 and larger room-size rugs. But the lines of distinction between "accent" rugs and "room size" rugs are becoming more and more blurred, according to vendors.
Indeed, Bryan Bogas, rug product manager of Springs Bath Fashions, is on a campaign to run modifiers such as "bath," "kitchen" and "accent" out of the rug business entirely.
