MIAMI, Nov. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Carnival Cruise Lines' newest ship, the MS Carnival Destiny -- the largest cruise ship ever built -- is slated to call at Newport News, Va., Nov. 15 and 16.
The $400 million vessel will operate two one-night cruises from Newport News under a charter agreement with Virginia-based CI Travel. A $135 million, 53-location travel company, CI Travel marketed the two introductory voyages to the general public and both sailings sold out within seven hours.
The 2,642-passenger Carnival Destiny stretches nearly three football fields in length, and at 232 feet tall towers 55 feet above the Statue of Liberty. At 101,000 gross ...
