GORDON BROWN'S remarkable comeback was capped early today with a shock Labour win in the make-orbreak Glenrothes by-election.
Although they retained the seat - next door to the Prime Minister's constituency - with a reduced majority, few had given them any hope of victory when the poll was called two months ago.
Even up until late last night, many felt Labour was out of the running in the Fife seat, with the SNP poised for victory.
