MEIKLE Carewe wind farm proposals have met with opposition from Stonehaven and District Community Council, who have fears for the impact of turbines on the landscape.
At their latest meeting, members agreed to send a letter to the local authority, objecting to a planning application by Renewable Energy Systems Group, RES, for 12 turbines on the hillside between the Netherley and Slug roads.
Community council secretary Peter Bellarby said the turbines would be sited on a ridge that was a prominent feature from both the north and the south of the town.
"I think we have grounds to object on the visual impact the wind farm would have," he said.
