Rare bird found in Lanarkshire

RANGERS at Strathclyde Park received an extra special visitor.
The bird ? a Slavonian Grebe ? was discovered at the Palace Grounds car park in Hamilton by a woman who was out shopping. She took it to the rangers.
Ranger Charlie Howe, who identified the rare visitor, said: "This is not the first time we have come across grounded grebes and other water birds.
"We think this bird is likely to have mistaken the wet car park in Hamilton for a pond and, as grebes are designed for aquatic life, it is difficult for them to walk on land due ...
