Vendors Tout New Piezo Micro Dry Color Inkjet Technologies
Consumers may need a replacement for the label "inkjet printer" if two new printing technologies live up to their manufacturers's claims.
Epson's new Stylus Color printers, debuting at prices under $300, feature a proprietary, piezoelectric-based multilayer actuator-head technology. Meanwhile, Alps Electric USA and Citzen America have both introduced under-$1,000 printers using a patented Micro Dry tech-nology that forces dry ink to adhere to paper.
