One name is engraved on a war memorial in a country churchyard near Petersfield, the other is carved on a memorial in a Dutch village.
They are just two individuals among the hundreds of thousands of men and women who died fighting for their country during World War Two. But 62 years after peace was declared in Europe, their lives are a source of inspiration to two authors - one in England, and one in Holland.
The name on the war memorial in the churchyard at Rogate is that of Commander Campbell Clouston who died during the evacuation of Dunkirk.
His story is told in a new book about the evacuation, which is published in paperback this week.
