UNMIN favouring Maoists: Nepali Congress
Kathmandu, Nov 9 (PTI) -- Nepal's main opposition party has accused the chief of the UNMIN, which is tasked to manage the arms and the army of the former rebels, of favouring the Maoists in the landmark peace process in the Himalayan nation.
A top party member of Nepali Congress and former Home Minister Govinda Raj Joshi said that Ian Martin himself being a "communist" forgot about his role as the UN representative and worked to promote the Maoists.
For him (Martin) Congress is the number one enemy, and he cannot tolerate Nepali Congress any more", Joshi said in an interview to Nepal National Weekly.
