The Military Sealift Command (MSC) has changed the requirements and extended the deadline for its commercial helicopter services competition in an effort to attract more bids.

In an interview Friday, MSC commander Vice Adm. Phil Quast said several firms "have responded to our willingness to be flexible," and that the deadline will likely be extended once again, to December 9.
